Reekelitsoe Molapo, Entrepreneur
Reekelitsoe Molapo is an entrepreneur from Lesotho, Maseru. She is both partner and operations manager for the MM Group; a group of companies based in Lesotho and South Africa dealing exclusively in the following sectors: Consulting, Transport & Logistics, Energy and General Supplies.
Her entrepreneurial career started immediately after high school back in 2012 when she had taken a gap-year, this is when she discovered her passion for business and she since rode on that wave. In the early years of her work she started making and selling handicrafts like women’s accessories, freelancing for local companies in her home country and helping her mother’s business which is in the fashion industry.
Her journey was not an easy one as she came across countless challenges and still is today but she persevered on and focused on the bigger picture. She had to juggle school and business, inject her own savings into her projects and sometimes ran losses on those projects. She learnt a lot of things on this path; amongst which she learnt that failure is part of success and that to gain something of worth, one ought to leave their comfort zone and take risks.
Her drive and hunger to grow beyond just a start-up led her to her current business partners because they were enticed by her resilience and enthusiasm for business which birthed their expansion to South Africa from a company that was already based in Lesotho. Reekelitsoe is a firm believer in smart work, productivity and efficiency in everything one does. She would love to see her company grow and become a multi-national with a footprint in the SADC region in 10 year’s time. Moreover; to impact Africa’s economy; providing business solutions.
She believes aspiring women entrepreneurs should be fearless, resilient and keen on challenges.
